Monitor Calibration and the Spyder 3 Pro

Color calibration can be confusing.  Your image looks one way on the back of your camera, another way on your PC and yet another way when it comes off your printer.  My first step toward demystifying the process was to purchase ColorVision's Spyder 3 Pro to properly color calibrate my computer displays. While not the entire answer to the issue outlined above, at least the colors I'm seeing on my displays are now consistent between my laptop and external monitor.

As I get nearer to the world of "print" in my photography journey, the Spyder 3 Pro has allowed me to neutralize this one variable, display colors, in the equation by giving me consistent color representation on my displays.
