The "Human" Subject

If you've looked at my portfolio, it's pretty obvious that I gravitate toward landscape and nature shots.  Yes, there are the occasional candids of nieces and nephews at family events, but I can't imagine myself walking down the sidewalk and photographing perfect strangers or setting up in a studio for portrait photography.  One never knows what the future will bring, however.

In the meantime, why not add the "human subject" to your landscape images?  This shot was taken during a recent sunrise outing with my beautiful wife and "shooting buddy" becoming an unwitting focal point of the morning festivities :-).

I like how her silhouette helps to define the scale of the sandstone cliffs and trees in the background and illustrates how we humans really are just a very small part of this beautiful planet.

Stop back for this Wednesday's "Title This..." image featuring another landscape image with a human focal point.

Have any human/landscape shots of your own? Share your story with a link in the comments below.  I'd love to hear from you.
