Adrift

Just returning from 5 days in Door County and can't believe nearly an entire year elapsed between visits. I swear that with every passing birthday, the old clock seems to run faster and faster.

As you might expect, I managed to spend a few hours behind the camera, a few hours in the kayak and a few hours behind the camera while in the kayak. This image, "Adrift", is one of my favorites taken from the kayak while navigating North Bay.

Shed from one of the many Mute Swans in the bay, this drifting feather was as close as I got to any wildlife. Simple, soft, and clean, its an image that instills those same feelings of calm and peacefulness I was lucky enough to experience that morning on the water.
