Lightroom Plugin: Perfect Layers by On1 Software

With practice and perseverance, you can accomplish a lot of your post process right within Lightroom.  There are occasions, however, where adding another tool to your toolbox can make life easier.

If you have any experience with PhotoShop or can appreciate the concept of layering, you'll know that there is near limitless capabilities provided to you when you're able to merge multiple images together...remove the distractions, add important subjects, replace the sky, etc., etc..  You'll also probably appreciate that Adobe's PhotoShop is a pretty complex application with an equally complex price tag.

On One's Perfect Layers plug in just may be the tool that's missing from your toolbox.  It provides you the power of layering and masking without the additional complexity or excessive cost of PhotoShop.  I've just downloaded the 30 day trial and sat through the various tutorial videos and must say I'm anxious to start putting it through its paces.  I've been working with an old version of PhotoShop CS (yes, the original... CS1) when I've needed layer and mask capabilities.  We've been toying around with buying the latest CS5 version, but that's a lot of pennies and we've always found better places to invest them.  If Perfect Layers can accomplish 80 - 90% of what we'd do in PhotoShop, however..... We just might be throwing some pennies in On One's direction in about 30 days :-).

Do you have any experience with this plug in?  If you have feedback to share, we'd love to hear from you so please leave a comment to share your thoughts.
