Lightroom 3 Red Eye Correction

I've you've ever taken a flash photo of something with eyes, you most likely have experience with the dreaded "red eye".  While many of today's cameras employ techniques to try to reduce or eliminate red eye (like the "pre-flash flash" to dilate the pupils), odds are pretty good you'll still have a use for this tool at some point.

As far as complexity goes, Red Eye Correction is about as simple as they come.
  1. Click the Red Eye Correction tool shown circled above. Your cursor will turn into the red eye correction cross hairs.
  2. Position the cross hairs over the center of the pupil.
  3. Click
Yep, that's pretty much it.  Easy as 1, 2, 3.

Now you can use the "Pupil Size" slider once you've selected the red eye area to determine how far from the center of the eye is impacted by the correction.  You an also adjust the darkness of the pupil adjustment with...you guessed it... the "Darken" slider.

That's it for this week.  Stop by next week when we review one of my favorite local adjustment tools, the "Graduated Filter".

Until next time, keep clickn'.
