We had the opportunity to spend some time further north this past weekend in the Eagle River area of Vilas County. As you can see from the photo above, the location is aptly named. This pair of bald eagles were perched above the river and were gracious enough to let us snap a few shots as we passed by on the boat below. While we have eagles here in the Merrill area, it's a much different experience seeing them flying overhead versus being able to hear them screeching at one another from just 50 feet away. Truly magnificent creatures and an incredible experience.
