The Magic of "the Crop"

Those Eyes
How many pictures have you taken where your subject occupies a much smaller portion of the frame than you'd like?  If you like to capture wildlife images, odds are you know exactly what I'm talking about.  Most of our wild critter friends aren't in the habit of accommodating closeups.  So what are we to do?  Well, one option is to sell a few internal organs in exchange for "long glass"... like that $10K 600mm lens you've always wanted :).  A more practical and less life threatening option is to crop your image for that interesting perspective as I've done with the osprey image.  My goal was to draw your attention to those amazing yellow eyes - something that was a little more difficult to do when they were teeny tiny specs within an ocean of blue sky in the original image.  Crop and rotate the image a little, however, and I'm betting you knew what color the eyes were before you read this far into the post :).
